What is a Dig Moratorium?
Winters in Colorado are very cold, especially in mountain towns. Cold winters mean that the ground is pretty well frozen, making it nearly impossible to dig. While this temporarily pauses construction activities, we know that there is so much to love about winters in Gunnison, including world class skiing and snowboarding!
Gunnison Rising is Digging In!
The City of Gunnison officially lifted the dig moratorium on April 17, 2023. This means that construction projects requiring digging for infrastructure can begin to get underway again. For Gunnison Rising, we are digging in and moving forward, working on getting infrastructure into place. We have already begun a utility run on the north side of the development and some road work has also restarted.
Plus, with the warmer weather, we are now doing site visits for companies, builders, and developers interested in Gunnison Rising. We already know how wonderful Gunnison Rising is, but we love being able to show interested parties exactly what a parcel of land looks like and what opportunities it can bring for their business.
